Homeschool Canoe Day

We fund after-school and summer camp programs, literacy, language and STEM learning, access to grief, depression and LGBTQ counseling, school clothing, health and food programs, parenting support, and cultural education.

By joining us, your dollars reach the small, yet impactful nonprofit programming that often remains unnoticed. These community providers create critical programs & services to our most underserved youth and their families. Together, we work to ensure these programs remain sustainable and impactful by requiring regular and constructive reporting to guarantee successful programming. NMCF distributes your dollars to where it makes the most significant impact, leveling the playing field in our rural state.

NMCF continues its very successful Going Places Online Auction (Aug 22-26) for a fourth year. This auction focuses on offering items and experiences that invite bidders to experience our region and beyond. This fall, NextGen Network returns with a Jazz Benefit Concert (Oct 3rd). With co-sponsor Origami in the Garden, we are excited to continue expanding relationships with our family of supporters.

Honoring the Efforts of Governor Bill Richardson

The members of the Board of Directors and staff of the New Mexico Children’s Foundation were saddened by the recent news of the passing of former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. In the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NMCF collaborated with the Bill Richardson Foundation and Molina Healthcare to provide PPE and other necessary supplies directly to those in need within the Navajo Nation. Governor Richardson was actively and personally involved in raising funds to purchase supplies and traveled to the Reservation to deliver them at the Chapter House level. We were honored to work with the Governor in one of his many humanitarian efforts and we will miss his good nature and enthusiasm in helping those in need”.

Buckaroo Ball News Update

Buckaroo Ball Advisory Committee press release May 1, 2023:

“It is with great sadness that Buckaroo Ball of Santa Fe announces the
death of our dear friend and Chair, Carol Thompson. Carol was a driving
force behind Buckaroo Ball for over 15 years and her infectious light,
laughter and tireless dedication to our organization and the youth of Santa
Fe will be sorely missed by both the community and her fellow
Buckaroos. Carol brought her heart and soul to serving the well-being of
children and youth in Santa Fe County.

In light of this deep loss, Buckaroo Ball has made the difficult decision to
postpone this year’s event in order to allow us to both honor the loss of
Carol Thompson and to also give us the time to re-organize and host the
best Buckaroo Ball possible in 2024.

Buckaroo Ball will maintain our years-long tradition and commitment to
supporting the youth of Santa Fe County through our grants in 2023. On
behalf of Buckaroo Ball, we thank you for your kindness and
understanding at this time.
